Explorer Extensions – Enhance the Windows Explorer Context Menu
When you right click the mouse in Windows Explorer, a context menu appears. Via this context menu you can copy and paste file, you can pin items to the Start menu, you can create desktop shortcuts, and so on. Where does the Funduc Software-developed application Explorer Extensions fit into this scenario?
The functionality this application provides may be obvious from its name – Explorer Extensions. Then again it might not be so obvious, so I am going to spell it out: with Explorer Extensions you can enhance the Windows Explorer right click context menu. After you install Explorer Extensions on your Windows-powered computer, you will notice that several new options appear in the context menu.
These new options :
Split – take a large file and break it up in smaller pieces.
Concatenate – take the smaller pieces mentioned above and put them back together. Concatenate is the opposite of the Split function.
Encode - Translates binary files into a format suitable for Internet Email attachments. Support is provided for UUENCODE, Base64(Mime), BinHex(Mac), Quoted-Printable, and XXENCODE formats
Decode – The opposite of the Encode function; convert email attachments to their original state.
Touch – change the time, date, and attributes of files.
File Operations - rename, copy, move, delete files using complex file masks.
Zip File Comments – view and edit ZIP file comments.
Before you get the Explorer Extensions and put it to the test, check out these technical details:
Download – the download weighs in at less than 1MB. This is good news; it means that download, even on a less than spectacular internet connection, will complete in no time at all.
Installation – at the time of writing this Explorer Extensions provides support for Windows Vista, 32-bit and 64-bit editions.
Limitations – you can use Explorer Extensions free of charge only for a 50-use evaluation period
